Anna started playing the piano at the age of 3 and studied with Tino Maxwell and Grace Lau. In 2001 she obtained her Grade 8 Piano Certificate from the Trinity College of Music (London) with distinction and was invited to perform at the 1st Hong Kong Music Rendezvous, organized by the Trinity College of Music (London). Anna later graduated from HKBU majoring in Performance and Pedagogy (Total Percussion) under the instruction of Rebecca Ng. During her school years Anna was already an experienced percussion tutor and arranged some of her own percussion ensemble pieces. In 2006 Anna went to USA to continue her studies at the Berklee College of Music and by 2007, she was awarded the Best Improved Drummer award by the percussion department, of which only 12 students among the whole department were selected. Anna is also an active performer on the pop/jazz music scene, having been the leader of the HKBU Jazz Band, percussionist in numerous wind bands and orchestras, and member of the pop ensemble Maz which won the silver prize of the 2005 Soundbase competition held by Tom Lee. She is now the drummer and also band leader of local jazz ensemble Renfrew Group.
