Renfrew Group is a local ensemble which plays various styles of straight ahead jazz. It was first founded in 2005 and was immediately invited to perform as the opening act of the 1st Hong Kong Jazz Festival organized by the Hong Kong Jazz Association. With a lineup solely consisting of music school graduates, members of Renfrew Group are alumni and students from Berklee College of Music (Boston, US) and the Hong Kong Baptist University Music Department, and are all very serious, devoted, and professional musicians ready to provide quality music on any performance stage. Since its foundation, Renfrew Group has played for audiences at the Blue Door jazz club, the Fringe Club, various malls, University functions, and is still putting in ongoing efforts to contribute our finest music to a wider audience, and to the local music scene.
